Banyard Millet Tomato rice

500 gms, 1 Kg

Ingredients

Viruthai Banyard Millet rice – 1 cup

Small onion – 10 chopped

Green chilli – 2

Tomato -6

Ginger,garlic paste –

Cumin – 1spoon

Cloves,lavanga cinnamom,bay leaves- each small pinch

Turmeric powder – a small pinch

Oil – 3 spoons

Ghee – 3 spoons

Curry leaves

Coriander – handful

Salt – to taste

Steps:

  1. Heat a pressure cooker, add oil and add all spices and curry leaves
  2. Add cumin,onion Saute till it turns brown in colour.ginger,garlic paste is added and fry till raw smell goes.
  3. Add green chilli and tomatoes.Fry the tomatoes till it mashes
  4. Add turmeric powder and add rice ,water.add salt
  5. Once it comes to boil close the lid and pressure cook for 2 whistles
  6. Once the pressure releases open the lid and add coriander and 3 spoon of ghee

Mix well and serve hot.
